ASSOCIATE DEGREE FOR SMART-BUILDING TECHS OFFERED AT ROXBURY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Educating tomorrow’s sustainable green building operators.

There is a growing demand for technicians to run and maintain buildings that are specifically designed to be environmentally responsible, so Roxbury Community College has added a degree to their program.  Starting in Fall of 2018 students can attend the College to specifically study how to operate green buildings and make efficient use of resources.something  to address the green skills gap while also providing students a pathway to good jobs.

USGBC MA board member James Jones, Sr. Director of Business Development at Skanska, teamed up with the president of the college because they both saw the importance of building these skills within the workforce. The two worked together along with leaders from other firms to design an associate degree program. The program focuses on educating students on how to run and maintain high-performance (green) buildings with a goal to expand the number of skilled green building technicians.
